Re: If we had stayed top 4....
My opinion of SA is based entirely on the evidence of his shit management.

It has nothing to do with a personal dislike for the bullshitting, fan insulting, narcissistic, favouritism giving, back-hander taking, gum chewing liar that is SA.

My judgement of SA goes much deeper than that.

Cringiest thing I've read on here for some time. And how about him showing us some respect, you fucking cringe?

Re: If we had stayed top 4....
I think Allardyce has done a great job for us like him or loathe him (as many seem to do) but I'm not convinced he can take us much further even with the influx of several very good players

This season the frailties of the squad have been cruelly exposed (again)

Last season it was defence, this season attack & midfield. I would even say that Nolan has done a moderate job in midfield when he's been called upon (which is far too often)

We did play some decent football in the early season, the partnership & pace of Sakho & Valencia caught a lot of teams by surprise. Neither have shown their early season form partly through injury

Looking back at the games when we were winning, we never dominated any of them in my opinion, so I would not class that as "attacking" football

Therein lies my biggest problem with Allardyce (If we put aside the stubborness, refusal to play youth players, arrogance towards the supporters & ludicrous substitutions) He cannot or will not have his teams attempting to dominate the opposition. It's score a goal (two if we're lucky) & hang on for grim death

We were hanging on earlier in the season but since the turn of the year we have leaked one late goal after another

I believe he is incapable of setting up his teams to dominate matches & would settle to snatch an undeserved win or draw every time. Lately that method has been badly backfiring!

All fair, valid points but it's still astupid thread.

Re: If we had stayed top 4....
I was happy when we were playing attacking football as we were also winning games, it was when he decided it was better to have Nolan playing and going back to not trying to win games and being ultra defensive that it was all undone. If we had remained playing like the former(I didn't expect results to continue to be as good) then I wouldn't have had an issue with him staying.

21 wins
8 draws
8 defeats
65 goals
37 conceded
+28 G/D
71 points
4th place.

Nobody would be moaning at all.

Apart from some bloke going on about Noble's corners.

Re: If we had stayed top 4....
Sam Allardyce achieved a lot for us so can the regular lynch mob stop being churlish.

After relegation and absolute turmoil - he got us promotion at the first attempt. Yes it was through the back door but it was a glorious Wembley experience and the alternative could have been dreadful - look at Wigan, Brum, Leeds or even Portsmouth.

He stabilised us in the Premier League - 1 maybe 2 top 10's.

He got us to Champions League at Christmas - it was always a dream that would quickly burst!
We all knew that.

And through the back door - he's got us into Europe. He's done everything asked of him. Yes the football was largely shit, but we did get the better of Spurs, Liverpool, Man City and even Chelsea once.

When he goes soon, at least show respect, even if you havent got the slightest grace to say thank you. If you can't do it for you ... do it for your club.

Nobody moaned when we were 4th. Until we abandoned Downing in a diamond and opted for 451 with Nolan at least.

Re: If we had stayed top 4....
If the fat cunt had kept us in and around the final CL spot, then, yes I would've been content with him staying in charge because it's all about results at the end of the day.

I said content as opposed to happy, as a bit of entertaining football along the way would be nice. I had no complaints with the fat oaf at the start of the season.

We could win the league with Bobby Moore as manager - there'd still be some people moaning on here.

Would Mourinho have been sacked if Chelsea had been relegated?

But but...

What if allardyce won the league?

What if he won the champions league?

What if he won the world cup with Mark Noble as goalkeeper?

What if he was Buck Rogers and I was Mimi?

Looks at the facts, he has been shit and needs to go

It is a stupid thread.

If Graham taylor had won the world cup would he have been called a turnip?

No. But he didn't.

Re: If we had stayed top 4....
you say its a stupid thread but loads of people wouldn't take to allardyce even when things were good, what would it have taken to like him, i don't necessarily think its just success as he had that for half a season and still had his haters

Stay if he continued to play the style and shape of play he had at the beginning of the season...however he reverted back to 1 up front and sticking Downing out wide it didn't work but still he refused to change it!!..stubborn !!
